National Lawyers Guild
June 4, 2012
2012 marks the second year in which the Debra Evenson Venceremos International Award will be awarded by the National Lawyers Guild at its Convention.
Former Guild President Debra Evenson was a leading expert on Cuba’s legal system, a law professor and a pioneering advocate of international solidarity in legal work.
The Debra Evenson Venceremos International Award is presented on an annual basis as a national Guild award to honor outstanding international legal work, legal solidarity, international advocacy, and justice beyond borders, in the tradition of Debra Evenson.
The Guild lawyer receiving the award shall be selected by the Steering Committee of the International Committee. The award is presented at the Friday Night International Reception, this year in Pasadena, CA.
Please send nominations by Friday, June 29, 2012 to email@example.com.
Nominations should be written and should include specific reasons why the Guild member nominee meets the award qualifications, such as highlights and concrete examples from the lawyer's body of work. Please do not send emails just listing a nominee's name.
The person submitting the nomination should include his or her name and contact information.
Donations to the International Committee are greatly appreciated!
"Your interest and support has been a great encouragement to us at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission."
