The National Lawyers Guild Labor & Employment Committee, co-sponsored by the National Lawyers Guild International Committee, invite you to this urgent webinar, “Defending Voting Rights in 2020” on Friday, August 14 from 12pm-1:30pm ET / 11am-12:30pm CT / 9am-10:30pm PT.
The conversation of this panel will center around the question: “How can legal workers/attorneys/organizers help fight voter suppression and purging?” We will be joined by Greg Palast, who will discuss voter purges and states’ efforts to disenfranchise voters at the polls this election year, as well as Terry Ao Minnis and Jeanne Mirer. Attached to this email, you will find a copy of Jeanne Mirer’s submission to the United Nations Universal Periodic Review on this issue.
We urge NLG members to attend and discuss strategies to prevent voter suppression and defend voting rights, especially in light of the upcoming national election.
