Legal Counterinsurgency & Repression of the Left
Terror Listing, Red Tagging, Conspiracy:
The Weaponization of Law Against Anti-Colonial, Anti-Zionist & Anti-Imperialist Movements

In a major escalation of fascist state repression, the UK government has designated Palestine Action a “terrorist organization” under Section 3 of the Terrorism Act 2000. This move reflects a broader global trend: from terror listings and red-tagging to conspiracy charges, legal frameworks are increasingly being weaponized to criminalize anti-colonial, anti-zionist, and anti-imperialist resistance.

On Thursday, June 26, several organizations convened this urgent and timely conversation with frontline organizers, legal advocates, and scholars confronting the legal architecture of repression across the US, UK and Philippines.

  • Kamau Franklin – Community Movement Builders, Atlanta / Cop City resistance
  • Max Geller – Palestine Action, UK
  • Franck Magennis – Barrister & legal advocate, UK
  • Sarah Raymundo – BAYAN, Philippines
