This webinar will explore the context and impact of recent presidential elections in Colombia and Perú in the shadow of U.S intervention, that will help shape the contours of broader struggles for liberation throughout Latin America and the Global South.

These elections reflect deeper global trends related to the ascendancy of neo-fascist authoritarian movements aligned with MAGA and the Trump administration’s increasingly aggressive imperialist agenda in Latin America and globally. Latin American popular movements in Colombia and Perú and progressive governments such as that led by Gustavo Petro in Colombia have been at the heart of the courageous resistance to these trends.
